I’m writing from home on Tuesday evening. Nancy’s at the monthly meeting of the Staff-Parish Committee. SPRC handles all our personnel work. Last night, I was in a very productive Gracious Generosity/Finance Committee meeting. St. Andrew’s is blessed with wonderful leadership. Anyway, tonight I’ve been working on annotations for 100 ESSENTIAL POP SONGS: 1946-1966. Kay Starr is spinning THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE even as I type. I’m learning all sorts of stuff. Did you know, for instance, that when Zsa Zsa Gabor sang the title song in the 1952 film, MOULIN ROUGE, she was lip-synching the voice of African-American Muriel Smith? This multi-disc CD will be offered to the highest bidder on Friday evening, November 20, The Annual St. Andrew’s Dinner/Dance/Auction. Corey and Shawna Rector will be our hosts. You’ll be hearing much more about all of this, of course, but for now be sure to save the date.

FROM NETTA POLLOCK: MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
Steppin’ Up Weekend! Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23!
All children step up to the next grade level! Come catch the BUZZ, an all new curriculum for our kids! Join the parade of children at worship, and an ice cream social after the 5:00 Saturday service and 10:00 Sunday service. Have fun with cartoon artists, sign makers, balloon artists and more. Prayerfully consider teaching/helping in one of your children’s classes. It’s an opportunity where you will be well rewarded, by bringing our St. Andrew’s children closer to the “Gospel of Jesus Christ”! Contact Kris at ksimerly@standrewsomaha.net or STEP UP and stop by the Children’s Ministry Table to check out the BUZZ!!

COMING TO ST. ANDREW’S
August 8 & 9
SOLOMON IN NEVERLAND
Things The King Of Israel And The King Of Pop Had In Common

PRAYER MATTERS

We extend the sympathy of the church family to Genice Chochon and her family at the death of her father in California.
Also experience loss are Dan and Kathy Raabe in the passing of Dan’s uncle, Charles Christensen. Kathy also asks prayers for family member Tom Welch who is in a coma at UNMC.
And keep the Terveen family in your prayers in the death of Paul’s father.
Ted Quick’s sister, Tina, is recovering from an accident.
Netta Pollock and Renu Singh continue cancer treatment.
We continue to remember Sherri Alvarez’ father, Don Blackman, who has undergone leg and knee surgery.
Christian Dexter, two year old son of Brad and Janelle, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoma Leukemia.
Jean Piercy-Busboom asks our prayers for a niece in time of pregnancy complication.
Gerald Redding is receiving physical therapy at Brookstone Meadows.
Tony and Sue Smith ask us to pray for Carolyn Hyatt and family as Carolyn moves to hospice care.
Deb Bloom’s mother has been in and out of the hospital in recent weeks and is now in a nursing home. This can be a very difficult experience, of course, and we know the family will appreciate your prayers.
Please pray with Nancy: Loving God, we place these persons and their families into your kind and healing hands, knowing that you are with them and that you are helping them through the difficulties they are facing. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
