THIS WEEKEND AT ST. ANDREW’S
Saturday, July 25, 5:00
Sunday, July 26, 8:30 & 10:00
NEBRASKA HERITAGE WEEKEND
Bruce preaching:
WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN & THE CROSS OF GOLD
Special Guest: Senator Scott Lautenbaugh
*
Your editor is a huge believer that there is much to be gained from the study of great Christian lives. William Jennings Bryan, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was one of the most significant Americans of his era. His Christian faith and politics were inseparable. He was front and center in events of a hundred years ago that strike me as having much to teach us in our generations. Caution: If you think you know something about William Jennings Bryan because you once saw INHERIT THE WIND, what you think you know is almost certainly wrong. We’ll sing stirring old hymns of faith, including Onward Christian Soldiers. I am very excited about WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN AND THE CROSS OF GOLD. I hope you’ll make it a priority to be with us—and invite a friend!

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT FROM NANCY DAVIS:
Let’s all do this exercise: At the end of the day, ask yourself, “Did I take time to dance a little today?” For those of you who were not with us over the weekend, dancing in this context refers to doing something every day to appreciate all of life’s blessings, to notice beauty around us, to spend time having fun, to smile and laugh. Check yourself every evening and if you can’t think of anything you did on a particular day to dance, promise yourself you’ll do better the next day! Keep dancing!

We had a wonderful Administrative Council meeting last night. St. Andrew’s is blessed with deeply committed volunteer leadership.

YOUTH MISSION TRIP UPDATE:
This just in from Colorado:
We just wanted to let you know that we are alive and well in Cortez. We're off to a great start. The kids are working hard not only on the work sites and with community children and thety are getting to know the kids from churches in Idaho and Texas. Last night we drove to McPhee Reservoir and had the opportunity to take in the incredible vista. We could see Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. Tonight we are getting a lesson about Navajo culture and tasting Indian fry bread.
